Chag Ha’Hadashim: A Holiday of Renewal–August 10, 2017

From Congregation Rodef Shalom:

Please join us for the inauguration of a new holiday commemorating an event unique in history that happened to the Jewish people in Babylonia over 2600 years ago.

On Thursday, August 10, 2017, we will be inaugurating a new holiday commemorating an event unique in history that happened to the Jewish people in Babylonia some 2603 years ago. This was the first time that one people destroyed by another nation and its king, survived exile and then returned to its homeland to rebuild and flourish. Had the Jews not survived and rebuilt, there would have been no Christianity and no Islam — three Monotheistic religions.

The program will begin at 7:00 pm at Rodef Shalom Congregation (450 South Kearney Street) with a welcome by each of the three faith communities, followed by short videos, music, a fashion display, a brief lecture on the history of the period. A reception follows.

Communities of all faiths are encouraged to join us in this cultural celebration featuring short videos, music, a fashion display, and a brief lecture. A reception follows.

Wear a new article of clothing for this event to symbolize “Renewal” and to greet each other with the words: “May you be Renewed.”

This is a FREE event. However we appreciate knowing you will attend. Information: 303-399-0035.
